for a while... to refresh your soul and renew your spirit. A retreat
is a way to step aside from everyday concerns to relax and care for your
soul, to get perspective, to renew and deepen your relationship with the
Divine. Withdrawing to a quiet place alone – or sometimes with a
friend – is a good opportunity to take a fresh look at life, to sort
things out. It’s a time to wonder about the nature of reality. What
really matters? How is the Creator being revealed in me, around me and
within the entire universe?
Providence Renewal Centre offers very peaceful and quiet
spaces conducive to solitude and prayer. We invite you to spend a day in
one of our five cozy, living-room style parlours on our second floor. Or,
consider an overnight retreat or sabbatical in our private retreat area,
Sacred Space, located in a separate wing on the main floor.

About Sacred Space
All guests of our Sacred Space enjoy a private room with
attached bath. These five cozy rooms are warmly decorated and ready to
welcome you. The area also features a common kitchen and quiet
reflection/prayer room.
The space offers
private access to the upstairs chapel and parlours for spiritual direction. Trained, experienced
spiritual directors are available to accompany you on your spiritual
journey. Holistic services, such as massage, can be arranged as well.
During your stay, you are welcome to enjoy our grounds - 16
acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, a fountain area and outdoor
labyrinth (seasonal). Providence Renewal Centre is just a short walk away
from the beautiful Edmonton river valley - there are some lovely walking
trails nearby.
There are many options for those wishing sabbatical time.
Providence Renewal Centre is located close to Taylor University College
and St. Stephen's College at the University of Alberta. Newman Theological
College is only a 30-minute drive away.
We are also a short four-hour drive from the scenic
Rocky Mountains in Jasper or Banff and three hours from Calgary. There are
many things to see and do in the Edmonton area as well! Edmonton is
world-famous for being "Festival City" - there is always something going
on!.
Providence Renewal Centre is a perfect place to make
a retreat or sabbatical. We invite you to come away for a day, several
days, a week or several weeks to renew and refresh your whole being.
Sabbaticals of one month to one year can be arranged for those seeking
more time away.
